Location

MuMa Hostel is located on the island of Sant'Antioco, in the village of the same name, a charming fishing village that stands on the remains of Sulki, one of the oldest cities in the western Mediterranean. An island within an island on the south-west coast, Sardinia's largest, connected by an isthmus about 4 km long.

Just a short walk from the seafront and the Marina, MuMa Hostel is a few minutes from the centre of the main town and conveniently located for the many beaches dotted around the island.

Portixeddu, Maladroxia, Coaquaddus and Cala Sapone, among others, are easily reached by car in about half an hour. To the north, in the vicinity of Calasetta, Cussorgia, the Salina, the Spiaggia Grande and the suggestive Mangiabarche rock.

Cagliari-Elmas airport is 85 km away.

Hotel

Waking up with the cry of the seagulls announcing the arrival of the fishermen's boats, immersing yourself in a world on the edge of the sea. The MuMa Hostel tells of the emotions of an island and its soul.

A few steps from the seafront, it welcomes its guests in a space shared with the Museo del Mare e dell'Ascia, a small jewel where you can discover the flora and fauna of the lagoon, lighthouses, wooden boats and the memory of shipbuilding.

A traditional minimal style where the sea is always present: in the rooms that overlook it, in the walls invaded by lighthouses, octopuses and seabeds, the work of local artists, in the colours of the furnishings.

Books are everywhere, of all genres and in all languages, available to guests: MuMa Bookcrossing is a way to share its philosophy closely linked to sustainability and attention to the environment recognised by the Ecolabel.

The hotel is ideally located for visiting Sant'Antioco, its cliffs and beaches, immersing oneself in its Phoenician origins and the ancient rites dedicated to the martyred saint from the sea, patron saint of Sardinia.

Open all day long, at the Cafè you can start your day with a tasty breakfast, in the garden or in the indoor room, and accompany your moments of relaxation until late in the evening, with aperitifs and drinks.

Rooms

With a traditional minimal style, the 32 rooms are spacious and bright and immediately welcome you into the charming world of the sea. Some have a view of the blue, like a painting of a thousand shades where you can admire the sunrise, while others are immersed in the atmosphere. Spread over 4 floors, half of the rooms are doubles and overlook the seafront, while the quadruple and triple rooms have views of the hillside. The rooms all have private en-suite bathrooms, equipped with showers and toilets.

Services and activities

Within MuMa Hostel, reception is shared with the Museo del Mare e dell'Ascia, which is an integral part of the building. There is also a café open until late in the evening and a corner shop where guests can buy excellent food and wine and local craft products.

Together with CEAS Isola di Sant'Antioco, the Centre for Environmental Education, MuMa Hostel carries out a research and environmental education project with excursions, play activities, creative workshops, school camps and educational courses for children. It is also the founder of the Sulki Natural Shopping Centre, which brings together more than 70 of the island's producers and is located a short walk from the hotel.

Two multi-purpose halls are available for events, exhibitions, conferences and artistic and cultural meetings.

On request, it is possible to take part in organised experiences, excursions and activities in the company of expert guides or to hire bicycles to visit the surrounding area.

Other services: bookcrossing and private shuttle service/rental with driver (NCC) with a 9-seater minibus to be shared with other guests.
