In the heart of Ogliastra, the Galanias Hotel & Retreat is located 4 km from the town and 700 m from the beach, which is easily reachable on foot in about ten minutes. 

The port of Arbatax is 18 km away, Santa Maria Navarrese 23 km, Cagliari airport 120 km and Olbia airport 180 km.

Hotel

The Galanias Hotel & Retreat is located on a gentle slope in the Marina di Bari Sardo, on different levels sloping down to the garden. It is furnished in a traditional style, with custom-made furniture and beautiful examples of Sardinian handicrafts.

The resort consists of a main building, which houses the main services and some rooms, and two rows of buildings surrounded by the garden, where the other rooms are located. It also has a panoramic swimming pool with Jacuzzi, bar and restaurant.

Due to its layout, the hotel is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.

Rooms

The 42 rooms are distributed in  the three buildings that make up the hotel: some are located in the main body, while most of the rooms are in the two secondary buildings, about 30 to 150 m from the main building. All have independent entrance and centralised air conditioning/heating. 

Beach

The beach of Torre di Barì, which is about 700 meters from the hotel, is easily accessible on foot (there is no shuttle service). The Spanish tower that graces the beach divides it into two parts: one, called ‘mari de is ominis’ (the men’s beach) has large-grained golden sand and is bordered by a green pine forest, while the other, known as ‘mari de is feminas’ (the women's beach) has, instead, pebbles mixed with fine white sand. The names date back to the post-war period, when men and women frequented the two stretches of beach separately.

Hotel guests will be provided, free of charge, with an umbrella and two beach chairs per room to be requested at the reception, plus one beach towel per person (each change of towel will cost € 3.00). They can use them for the duration of their stay, to visit the many beaches in the area. There is no reserved spot on the beach.

Other nearby beaches: Sa Marina 1 km, Cea 8 km, Lido Orrì 10 km, Cardedu 9 km, Santa Maria Navarrese 23.5 km.

Restaurant

Located in the main building, the restaurant welcomes guests in an indoor hall and on an outdoor terrace by the pool. The day opens with an international buffet breakfast, followed by a light lunch or light snack à la carte. At dinner, you can choose from several proposals, including seafood and meat dishes.

Special menus available (vegetarian/vegan/food allergies). Theme evenings: the Galana Night, a journey to discover Sardinian traditions with music, songs, typical dances and a menu that enhances the delicious flavours of local cuisine; the Fisherman's Dinner, with fish grilling on the spot; the Italian Night, featuring the best dishes of the Italian tradition.

Services & activities

The bar is available to guests, for a refreshing drink during the day or for a cocktail to be enjoyed by the pool. On request and at an additional cost, guests can participate in yoga and meditation courses, and enjoy a relaxing massage.

Pets are not allowed in the structure. Wi-Fi is available in public areas, not in the bedrooms. Free outdoor parking.
